We have admired the work of LA artist Cache (@cachicken) for many years. In February the stars aligned for LA Tourist Race #2 and the Paint Party at The Cub House and we were able to hand delivery one of our SO-EZ tracklocross frames for Cache to paint.
If you're not familiar with Cache check out this great article he did with BIKE MAG.
Cache paint. Cache drew. Then he painted again. The end result was this one-of-a-kind rolling piece of art. Socially minded, intimately connected to the streets of LA through his craft, Cache suggested that find a way to use this frame to raise money for the local LA food bank.
For a number of weeks anyone that donated directly to the LA Regional Food Bank and submitted a photo of their donation (or a photo of their smiling face) was entered to win this bike. When all was said and done, over $6000 was donated to the food bank which equated to over 24,000 meals for the good people of LA. The lucky winner is now a proud owner of this beautiful one-of-a-kind SO-EZ tracklocross bike. You can check out the complete build here. Huge thanks to everyone who donated and made this project possible.
